1. IDEA
CHARMING     

Located in an 1800’s building in the historic Bonjardim street in the center of Porto, this project consisted of the conversion of a 120 m2 apartment into 2 smaller apartments. The conversion process aimed at restoring the classic glamour of the original building and era, that had been since lost.





2. PROCESS
PRESERVATION       

Central yet quiet, this area of the city is full of old, understated charm. This quality drove the intent of this rehabilitation: bringing back the glamour of the original construction while adding modern day comfort.
Skilled artisans were instrumental to realizing this vision, working delicately to resurface decades old materials.







3. SOLUTION


This is a sunrise, East facing, apartment. The quality and play of light varies throughout the day and that dictated the layouts and finishes, decoration.
Compact yet comfortable and charming, the classic heritage was meticulously restored with special attention to craftsmanship to allow for exposing original details.
